Hearing from you
Dear co-laborer in the Lord,
Thank you for journeying with us, caring for us, being curious about us, reading about our journey and how God has been leading us this past year. We want to thank so many of you who have actively joined us on this journey to Japan. Please let us know how you are doing as well. We don't want to lose touch with you, and we want to see how you and your family are growing. Send us pictures. =)
We're looking forward to hearing from you!
Blessings! Peter, Jenny, Juhee, and Baby Oh
Labor Pains
We met with one of our supporters recently who asked Jenny if she was ready to have the baby (our son who is due in May). Jenny replied, "not really", thinking about the labor pain, the sleepless nights and her recovering aching body. Then Jenny was asked if she was "ready" to give birth when she was in her last month of pregnancy with Juhee. Jenny recounted how by that point, when her belly was so large she couldn't see her feet anymore, she really wanted Juhee out. She was about to burst! She was "ready". Our supporter thought that feeling of being "ready" to give birth must be so similar to how we must be currently feeling in getting "ready" to go to Japan. We are so "ready" we are about to burst!
Our target departure date is currently end of March - high five!
Danville, Davis, and Dallas
The Danville Garage Sale was held last Saturday, January 30th, and was a great time of encouragement in seeing God at work. There were three garage sales advertised for that day in Danville, but because the forecast for that weekend was rain, the other two garage sales cancelled, resulting in our friends having a garage sale monopoly in Danville that day. They emptied out their garage of personal belongings, and filled it with the items for sale in preparation for the rain. However, the rain poured down on Friday night and when Saturday morning came, the skies were clear! People even lined up at 7:30am for the garage sale, which was advertized to start at 8am. The garage sale was a great success, and many adults and teenagers came to volunteer their time. Some volunteers had to leave early and so aren't in the picture. We were so thankful and blessed, and in awe of how God's hand blessed the garage sale.
Later on that same day we drove up to UC Davis and shared our testimony at Davis Korean Church's Homecoming & Missions Center Dedication celebration weekend. It was great to catch up and meet with Peter's friends, their spouses and children and to also hear about how so many from this church are currently pastors, missionaries, and leaders, passionate about living out their faith. We were very blessed to have been able to take part in this great milestone.
A couple of days later we boarded a flight headed for Dallas, TX for the next part of our journey. We'll be in Dallas till Feb 17th and look forward to catching up with many of our friends in Dallas. We're also looking forward to the divine appointments God has in store for us during our couple of weeks here!
NVC Missionary Housing
After a bit over a month of much needed rest, peace, and quiet in New Vision Church 's Missionary Housing, we moved back to Jenny's parents' house in South San Jose. It was an important time for us to spend time together as a family, to refocus, and to recover from our Korea trip (the three of us took turns being sick half of the time we were there). We're very grateful to the leaders at NVC for allowing us to stay there for an extended period of time. Thank you!!! :)
Look for us at...
