Update - Today's Prayer Topics

To say that updating our blog has not been very high on our priority list since the earthquakes and tsunamis last Friday would probably be an understatement.  However, we have updated our facebook statuses a few times so thought I'd share them with the non-facebookers here.

Here's mine from today, March 17th:
PRAY for the JPY. it's getting stronger which means that all of the money raised from abroad will amount to much less if it continues to get stronger.
PRAY for the weather. it's been snowing the past couple of days - not good survival nor rescue weather!
PRAY for the rescue crews. many suffer from depression / suicidal thoughts afterwards b/c they seem to "fail" more than they "succeed" despite everything.

Mine from March 14th:
life is a bit surreal right now because it's "normal". we're so close to so much devastation yet so far. we have shelter, hot running water, electricity, gas, food, & water. many times during the day i'm struck by a massive sense of gratitude & sadness at the same time. i want to do more than pray & give a little from what we have, but for now, this will have to do.

THE WHOLE WORLD IS PRAYING FOR JAPAN. AWESOME. ♥

Mine from March 11th, the day it all happened:
we're ok. we're on the same island, but hundreds of miles away so we didn't feel a thing. thx for checking on us! :) ♥

Peter's from March 11th:
Thanks for your prayers and concern. Jenny, the kids and I are just fine. The earthquake and tsunami hit near the Miyagi prefecture which is about 700 miles northeast of us. Please pray for those in Northeastern Japan and their families.

He posted his update before me so most of our friends found out through him. :)  A whopping 40 people "like"d his status!

Please please please continue to pray.  I'll try to be better about updating our blog.  It's been hard to blog these days.  I don't like blogging about non-happy topics...  Sigh...
